The main difference between the 325i and the 328i is that the 328i has a more powerful engine. The horsepower is starting to show on the 50/70 portion with the 330 taking 3.0 & the 340 taking 2.7. The gap continues to open from that point. And there are a lot of different 0-60 times out there on the internet and in magazines. It all depends on who is driving I guess. Neither car is faster then the other though.
The car looks the same and drives so similar. AS far as 1.3 seconds difference that is wrong. There is a slight difference but I think it is closer to .3 or .4 seconds difference. Plus a 325 is more tunable than a 328 so you can always make up for any differences.

Since I am not yet the most knowledgeable about all things BMW, I referred to Wikipedia, which labels the 2.8L as the M52B28. But then I went to the E36 M3 Wikipedia page, and it labels the 3.2L M3 motor as the S52B32. I think they're probably referred to as the S52B28 (2.8L) and S52B32 (3.2L), and Wikipedia is just wrong. 1998 BMW 328is. The 328i delivers better power and throttle response than 330i. On the other hand, the 330i makes an aggressive and loud exhaust sound. Some practical analysis declared that the 330i makes more power on-road on the road rather than the 328i.
