This is what makes reviewing Capcom’s Devil May Cry 2 such an interesting opportunity. The sequel received middling reviews upon its release in 2003, but it’s the franchise fans that really derided the game, marking it the black sheep for all the ways in which it failed to live up to its genre defining predecessor- and I was one of those fans.

Sound: In my opinion, Devil May Cry’s voice acting wasn’t half-bad. Sure, there were some parts where the game screwed up a little, but overall, I thought they did a good job. Devil May Cry 2’s voice acting is uh…well, it sucks. Lucia has something of a French accent, but at times, it’s hard to tell what exactly it is.

DMC2 has very little going for it and its only major saving grace is that it is completely unnecessary when it comes to playing and understanding the rest of the series. By all means, give it a shot if you want, but when you start to feel "man, this game kinda sucks", just go ahead and drop it. 19. DevilsDK.
Devil May Cry 2 isn't like Big Rigs, where you can treat the game like a joke and have 15 minutes of fun. DMC2 is just an outright joke with no punchline, and this was intentional on Capcom's part. The director of the original Devil May Cry was actually designing Resident Evil 3, but made it too action oriented.
Based on 472 user reviews. Unfortunately for fans, the whole experience can be summed up in one sentence: Too bland, too easy but looks good. I stared at the television in disbelief for a good hour wondering how Capcom cold have messed up this bad. Devil May Cry 2 in not only a grave disappointment, it's a painful one.
